Linsay ran her half marathon in 2 hours 8 min! Way to go girl!! Susan was not able to complete hers due to cramps..she still gets a big WAY TO GO, she was close !! Tis the season to challenge yourself! If you don't run then bike! You don't have to run to enjoy the outdoors! There are many bike races all over utah!! Biking is a hard sport too! Steve just signed up for a whole marathon..so did Christy and Lindsay. I signed up for a half, and so has Kristen and Melody. Ruth and Morgan are doing 10k's. It can be fun to have a challenge!

Let me tell you about a race that requires the kind of strength that not very many have! It is the craziest, most inspiring, hardest, roughest toughest thing I have heard of! And no..it would never be a consideration for me! However I love to hear how the human body can push through the barrier of fear and pain, just to say they did it!

The Leadville, Colorado 100. First it is the highest city in the United States. To give you a sense of what it is like..imagine running the Boston Marathon twice with a sock stuffed in your mouth and then hike to the very top of Pikes Peak. Then, do it all over again with your eyes closed!! Its nearly 4 full marathons, half of them in the dark, with twin 2600 foot climbs. The starting line is twice as high as the altitude where planes pressurize their cabins, and from there you only go up. Not even half of the runners make it to the finish. Its so cold and the winds are so bad at the top, everything is muddy and its pitch black, except for your little light.
Remember my little saying..Mind over body?? This would definately be one of those times. Its so amazing to me the power of the body!
So remember these people who have paid to run this race in Colorado, and draw some strength for them for your small little military testing... Now ask yourself this...does testing sound so bad now???
