I am a summer girl. My mom says I was born a californian. I swear I feel like my battery is "fully" charged when the sun is out. Winter is hard here. Bad weather, and bad air makes for some long months and some rather boring workouts stuck inside! No matter what though, I find that my desire to be healthy, and strong, and fit, always finds its way. I strive to make yours and my workouts fun and challenging.I have been pushing you guys and shaking things up and trying to load our batteries to "full". You all know as soon as we get a nice warm day, I will have you all running the block or doing burpees in the yard.Ha! I cant wait!Every Feb I start planning a trip and making summer plans, its my way to have something to look forward to. It gets me through my spring fever. We all need to make sure we are running on a "full" battery. We all know that when something is fully charged- it works! We have to fill our tanks, with healthy foods! We have to fill our muscles with workouts that grow! We need to fill our lungs with air and push through cardio. We need to fill our hearts with desire to love and take care of the bodies we have been given. We need to prep our minds for success, so we can achieve the goals we desire. We need to practice our big smiles- so when we achieve our goals we can let the joy flow!We must prepare our paths with people who will support our hearts desire. Its almost spring time- what is your personal goal?? Where is your battery sitting?? You wouldn't go on a road trip with no gas in your car- so don't start your TODAY and TOMORROWS without doing what needs to be done to live your life on"full". Surround yourself with people who support your goals. Find a friend or friendships where you can encourage one another. One of my closest friendships began with a weekly run or long hikes together. The hikes were my favorite, as we could talk the whole time. I would walk away with that "full" feeling, and I miss that! Find yourself someone who will tell you to get back on the horse when you have fallen off, and who will share your goals. Corinne and Sybil met at my house through training- and now their friendship has grown. They workout every friday and sat together!That support they get from one another really helps! Many friendships have been made here. Racing teams have been made here! Its wonderful!You all know that I support you and will push you, and will always tell you to get back on that damn horse!! I am definately here if any of you need me!!!STARTING NOW- CHARGE YOUR BATTERY-RE-CHARGE YOUR GOALS-STRENGTHEN YOUR BODIES-AND GET PREPARED TO MAKE THIS THE BEST SPRING EVER!!
**************** FYI- NEXT MILITARY TESTING WILL BE THE WEEK OF MARCH 17TH!! BETTER START PREPARING!!

I feel like incredible things have happened in December and January! The harder I push the harder you work!! Most all of you have remained positive in the gym! I am really grateful!I just really want to give a shout out to all of you who pushed and tried and worked hard on my weekly "special" workouts I handed you. They were all a step harder from Decembers- and you guys still did it!!I want to recognize a few people- but remember I really am proud of all of you.~~~~~~~COLETTE-she has been consistently losing. Its slow- but it is steady and it is always down. I have watched her struggle with workouts- to now coming and pushing through it and really holding strong to the end. Her and Mike come together, and I love it! They are a great team. He could be dripping with sweat, and can barely stand- and no matter what I tell him to do, he always says "YOU GOT IT"! Thanks for making my job so great! ~~~~~~~~~~~Corinne- just typing her name brings alot of emotion to my mind. I feel a close friendship with her and I can tell you she is Amazing!I'm not going to lie, she probably got the hardest "special" workout out of everyone. The reason I chose this for her, is because she is driven and she takes my challenges seriously! She also trusts me and she knows I would not give her something she could't do. She also, met her January goal weight! Congratulations Corinne!~~~~~~ Teri- this girl has it going on! She comes to her appointments faithfully- and takes a challenge with 100% heart!She has made amazing strides, both in weight and goals_ and she just broke her timed mile goal!! Way to go Teri! You all make my job so great!! ~~~ Sybil has a big birthday coming up- and I think I will publisize her goal- that make her accountable! I will keep you posted! So we were supposed to have our first team in training run for the half marathon on sat. The dang snow and slick streets made us cancel- which forced a few of us to still want to do it and hit the treadmills!~~~~ Amber you were my rock on Sat!! You and I did it! We ran a full 6 on the treadmills- which sorta ranks close to a root canal! We just kept telling each other to keep moving! Thanks Amber!!! Mike even ran 3.5 on the treadmill which is the longest he has ever run on a treadmill!! Happy Birthday to Lindsay_ her birthday was Tue, and to Steph, hers was on wed!! She even came to workout on her birthday night!! Oh yeah---IT IS FREAKING AMAZING THAT DARYL IS NOT 400 POUNDS! THE POOR GUY IS TEMPTED DAILY AT WORK WITH GOURMET SWEETS, BROWNIES, HOT GOOEY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES AND PIES! He takes pictures of them and sends it to me- helps keep him accountable! Then of course I send him threats..DARYL I SWEAR ON MY LIFE IF YOU EAT THAT.. YOU WILL RUN INCLINE UNTIL YOU PUKE AND PUKE! What can I say? It's all in a days work!! I want to finish with this......On Valentines day is my 22nd year anniversary! I love my husband so much! He has loved me and supported me through it all!I wouldn't be the person I am today without his love and support!I love VALENTINES DAY!! So Happy Valentines to you all this thursday! FITNESS TIP*** DON'T ASK FOR A BOX OF CHOCOLATE!!

Happy Super Bowl everyone!! I have a great recipe for you all!! I made this yummy dinner and even my boys had seconds! It has greek yogurt in it, and they didnt even know it! Its very healthy. Throw it in the crockpot!
3/4 cup non fat Greek yogurt****
1 15 0z can black beans, rinsed and drained*****
1 4 oz can green chilis******
1 15 oz can diced tomatoes*****
1 cup reduced sodium chicken broth*****
1 cup frozen or fresh corn****
1 1/2 pounds pre-cooked chicken breast****
2 tbs fresh squeezed lime****
1/2 tsp. onion powder****
1 tsp chili powder****
1 tsp. cumin****
2 tsp. Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime****
1... Place 1/2 cup broth and white beans in blender and puree. add yogurt and blend again. Poor liquid into slow cooker.
2... Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
3.... Cover and cook on high for 2 hours on low for 4-5 hours.
