I recently had a client come back to training with me. She told me that there is no place like my gym and my training and that I have direct integrity associated with it and my clients. Now I have heard the word integrity many times, but to be honest I really didn't know what the exact meaning was. I googled its definition. It gave 2 definitions~ 1. a quality of being honest and having strong moral principles 2. state of being whole. After really learning the meaning of that word, I decided it was very nice to be told I have integrity in my business and the way I train. The thing that stuck out the most to me was the second definition of that word...the state of being whole! Wow! I love that. Don't we all want to be whole, and I say that in a way in which I believe means being balanced. Lets face it, its easy to get off balance. If you really listen to your body, you know when you are. When you are in BALANCE-You do feel whole and really good. I have talked to you all about this before- but it is a circle. It's physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Yes, and spiritually! Now I'm not going to go into a sermon. I know many of us have different religions and walks of faith. It's when you learn to see your body as a temple( or as I like to think of it) a gift. Your only one body that you have been given to try to do the very best with that you can, and giving thanks to God for your health and the fact that you are able to have this body that does so much for you everyday. I often think how grateful I am that I can run, or that I can do pull ups, or that I can watch as my body gets stronger. Its when you find a place of gratitude for yourself and your body that I think your goals will happen. Don't spend time reflecting on the negative. I hear ALL the time..oh if I could just be this weight, or if I could just get rid of this fat, or I'm so slow... but these people are missing the big picture! Don't narrow your reality into a number on the scale! Look how far you have come, look how hard you are working..look you have a body that is healthy and you are able to work out. Give gratitude to that body and keep believing in it and always be in thanks and I believe things will change for you. Keep yourself in check..if your out of balance in one area- well your whole circle is going to be off. If you are a emotional eater then you eat when you need comfort or you are stressed or tired..you over eat because of the emotional, and then the physical feels sick and heavy and now your off balance in the physical, and now you are mad and hateful with your weight and the whole situation and now you hate your body and your spiritual is off.. AND JUST LIKE THAT..your seriously off track! Start this year off in a place of gratitude for your body..love your body at every stage your at and celebrate its accomplishments!
