Well I'm actually writing this post in the middle of the superbowl, because Broncos are not playing so hot and we all have to take a break from the tv! I haven't posted for a while! I have set up a business page on facebook and will be making lots of posts on that with exercise, nutrition, and upcoming events! You should be able to pull me up even if you are not on facebook! Make sure to "like" my page please!! I will keep my blog for awhile, until all my clients know how and are comfortable with following me on facebook. Well February is here..and I have a few things up my sleeve! Get ready to pick a "heart" after your workouts here! BE PREPARED TO DO WHATEVER THE HEART SAYS YOU MUST! Oh how I love Valentines! I am currently working on another butt kicking "dirty thirty", and after many requests I will be doing another nutrition class in March! Date will be announced in the next few weeks! Big shout out to Sybil.. she re-arranges her parent teacher conferences so she never misses a training session. That's commitment! She does conferences, then comes to train, then goes home to shower, then goes back to school! WOW!! You are all doing really well! February here is going to be a fun month!!Happy Birthday to our Lindsay on Feb 5th. Its the big 30!Keep on sweatin!!

I recently had a client come back to training with me. She told me that there is no place like my gym and my training and that I have direct integrity associated with it and my clients. Now I have heard the word integrity many times, but to be honest I really didn't know what the exact meaning was. I googled its definition. It gave 2 definitions~ 1. a quality of being honest and having strong moral principles 2. state of being whole. After really learning the meaning of that word, I decided it was very nice to be told I have integrity in my business and the way I train. The thing that stuck out the most to me was the second definition of that word...the state of being whole! Wow! I love that. Don't we all want to be whole, and I say that in a way in which I believe means being balanced. Lets face it, its easy to get off balance. If you really listen to your body, you know when you are. When you are in BALANCE-You do feel whole and really good. I have talked to you all about this before- but it is a circle. It's physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Yes, and spiritually! Now I'm not going to go into a sermon. I know many of us have different religions and walks of faith. It's when you learn to see your body as a temple( or as I like to think of it) a gift. Your only one body that you have been given to try to do the very best with that you can, and giving thanks to God for your health and the fact that you are able to have this body that does so much for you everyday. I often think how grateful I am that I can run, or that I can do pull ups, or that I can watch as my body gets stronger. Its when you find a place of gratitude for yourself and your body that I think your goals will happen. Don't spend time reflecting on the negative. I hear ALL the time..oh if I could just be this weight, or if I could just get rid of this fat, or I'm so slow... but these people are missing the big picture! Don't narrow your reality into a number on the scale! Look how far you have come, look how hard you are working..look you have a body that is healthy and you are able to work out. Give gratitude to that body and keep believing in it and always be in thanks and I believe things will change for you. Keep yourself in check..if your out of balance in one area- well your whole circle is going to be off. If you are a emotional eater then you eat when you need comfort or you are stressed or tired..you over eat because of the emotional, and then the physical feels sick and heavy and now your off balance in the physical, and now you are mad and hateful with your weight and the whole situation and now you hate your body and your spiritual is off.. AND JUST LIKE THAT..your seriously off track! Start this year off in a place of gratitude for your body..love your body at every stage your at and celebrate its accomplishments!

NOW IT IS TIME TO FOCUS ON THE NEW YEAR AND NEW GOALS.I WILL BE DOING EVERY PERSONS MEASURMENTS NEXT WEEK AS 2014 STARTS..THIS MAY SHORTEN YOUR WORKOUT TIME SOME, BUT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT!******I HAD A EXPERIENCE THIS WEEKEND THAT REALLY BROUGHT THE WORD "STRENGTH" RIGHT TO THE FOREFRONT OF MY LIFE! MY SON WENT SNOWBOARDING SAT AND HAD TO BE BROUGHT DOWN THE MOUNTAIN BY MEDICS. HE SNAPPED HIS COLLAR BONE IN HALF, CRACKED A RIB, BLOODIED BOTH SIDES OF HIS NOSE, AND HIT HIS JAW PRETTY BAD. IT WAS A SCAREY CALL TO GET FROM THE MEDICS..BUT I LEARNED SOMETHING.I WAS SO OVERCOME BY A FEELING OF PURE GRATEFULNESS ONCE I FOUND OUT IT WAS NOT HIS NECK OR HIS BACK. I SAID..WE GOT THIS! WE CAN HANDLE THIS!WE HAVE JUST BEEN GIVEN A GIFT. WHEN I FIRST MET WITH MY SON IN THE ER..HE MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN FEELING THE SAME WAY JUST THEN..HIS GIFT WAS THAT EVEN THOUGH HE WAS HURT, HE WAS BEING LOOKED AFTER THAT DAY, AND IT COULD OF BEEN SO MUCH WORSE..WE GOT THIS!..WE CAN HANDLE THIS!..STRENGTH ISNT JUST ABOUT TIGHT T'S AND BULGING MUSCLES. STRENGTH COMES FROM DEEP INSIDE. ITS A MIND SET. IN THAT SMALL LITTLE ROOM WHERE HE AWAITS HIS X RAYS..IT WAS FULL OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM, AND THE DOCTOR COULD BARELY SQUEEZE AROUND US..STRENGTH!!..WE ALL FORMED A STRONG UNIT. I ALWAYS TALK TO YOU ABOUT STRENGTH AND BEING STRONG..THIS WEEKEND PROVED IT..I AM STRONG, YOU ARE STRONG, AND WHEN WE COME TOGETHER TO FORM A UNIT WE ARE EVEN THAT MUCH STRONGER!THE FIRST QUESTION MY SON ASKED THE DOCTOR WAS.."HOW LONG UNTIL I CAN WORKOUT AGAIN?'...YEP, THATS MY BOY!!YOU ALL SHOWED YOUR OWN STRENGTH BY STICKING TO A CHALLENGE THIS MONTH! HOPE YOUR READY FOR ME IN 2014!!

Sounds like everyone had a really great Thanksgiving! I love this time of year! So many traditions and fun things to do together. Today starts the December challenge! whoot whoot!!My goal has always been to keep us healthy, fit and following a good nutrition plan. I think this challenge is perfect! Just the right amount of balance- I have made sure each workout is fat burning..so burn away!!Next sunday I will post this weeks numbers! I still have just a couple people to military test, and should have all scores posted by first thing next week!

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Thank you for our "rally". I call the "rally" when people that love you and care rally around you in the time of need! You have all been so wonderful!! You all are truly the best! I am happy to report that Jon is doing a little better each and every day! Even Jason who is a single dad of 3..was like "Can I bring you dinner"..no Jason, I can still cook..LOL, but thank you. Then he sends me a text..can I come rake leaves?..No Jason, we have no leaves, but thank you LOL..so I texted him back and said the one thing he could do to make Jon feel better would be to wear a Utes shirt all day to work..now you have to know ~ Jason is the biggest BYU fan there is!! ha ha....Can I just say this military testing was awesome!! You guys kicked some booty!!How good do you feel right now? Awesome! We have our December challenge quickly approaching.I'm calling it the "Winter Olympics". I had most of you choose a category last week. Those who did not, will be able to choose this week. Your category you choose will determine your challenge! It will begin Dec 1st and will go until the 30th of Dec. Are you going to score bronze, silver, or gold for our winter olympic challenge??I will also be talking with you about a "personal" goal. This goal is between you and I. The cost is 20 dollars. Thank you Corinne for helping out with wipes for the gym! We have had some crrraaazzyy sweat happening here, and seem to be going through them fast! Thanksgiving is almost here. You know what that means? GOBBLE GOBBLE-and that's just what most people do! Every year we do a run "turkey trot". Not only is it fun..it burns some of those calories! Please let me know by tomorrow if you plan on attending! I would like to start early this year!!I am happy to report that Teri is healing really well from her 2 knee surgeries! We miss you Teri! I am also reporting that poor Daryls group will be subject to what I like to call the "Bacon Buster" this week. Daryl shouldn't of eaten all that bacon!!Brings back a few memories..when Kristen ate to much carmel popcorn. That was called the "carmel popcorn" workout, and it still gives Corinne nightmares!

Sunday, November 10, 2013

Next week starting on the 18th is our military testing week! I will be having a schedule change to do this. I will be talking with you about what group to put you with. There are some people I really enjoy putting together, as it seems to make you push a little harder! Also, every year we have done a annual turkey trot! We will be doing that on Thursday the 28th! We will be starting early! Please give me a heads up if you are planning on joining! I am starting to put together some ideas for our December challenge..thats just right around the corner! You guys rock!! Practice for Military testing! See most of you tomorrow!!

DIRTY 30..was exactly what I wanted it to be! Thanks for giving it your all!!You guys did some serious sweating..and Corinne says you stink!! Whew!! Wasn't it fun?? I have Ami terrified that we will go for 50's in December! lol! I love that you sign up for something and you have no idea what your getting yourself into! You do it anyways!! Takes courage and a desire to make a change! I really want to give a shout out to Teri. She just ran her first, and her last half marathon on sat. She has to have double knee surgeries next week, and the doctor told her no more running again! All that running can be jarring on the joints and knees and he had suggested no more running unless she wanted a knee replacement. She found out on Mon, and ran the half on sat! Her heart just knew that she needed to do this one before surgery. She had trained hard! She ran it in 2:27!I am so proud of her!! I love that instead of being negative she chose to stay positive. When plan A didn't work, she is now going for plan B! Her next goal is to speed walk the Ogden half! Oh no..she is not going to let someone buy her ticket--she is going to move forward with her life and her goals and she will do it..as fast as she can without running! I love that! When her husband fell off the roof and shattered both ankles and had to endure a major recovery- Teri was right there positive as ever!! She helped him go from crawling to crutches to no crutches and back to water skiing again! She is definitely someone who I know is a great example of " IF THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY!I consider her a close friend..and consider myself very lucky! Good job Teri!! I am including a new green tea drink I heard about..My friend Eva recently blogged about a secret drink at Starbucks that is super healthy, tastes good, and costs under a buck. When I first read her post, I thought it had to be too good to be true. No way can you order a venti anything at Starbucks for that cheap. So, on to the details. The drink is called a Venti Matcha on ice. You simply ask for three scoops of matcha powder (they use this to make their green tea lattes) mixed with water. You'll end up with a big green refreshing beverage that tastes a lot like iced tea. The reason it's so cheap is that they do not offer matcha as a stand alone item on the menu, so instead they just charge for an ice water and then hit the "add matcha" button. So what makes it so much healthier than green tea? Well, when you drink matcha, you actually ingest the whole ground up tea leaf as opposed to just the brewed water. It contains lots of trace elements and is rich in catechin polyphenols. These compounds contain powerful antioxidants that help prevent cancer, heart disease, and slow the aging process. It also contains fiber and almost no calories!

Hey guys! Here's the low down on my "DIRTY THIRTY". It costs 30 dollars (10 dollars per class)and as you can imagine, it has to do with the number 30!It will be held TUE evening at 530- Thursday(Halloween) morning-(with 2 morning time slots to choose from) and sat morning at 630 am. Your normal training schedule will still remain the same! If you are someone who comes on Mon& wed, then you have the opportunity to almost get a boot camp week in! Thursday morning will be the only one that is on a timed schedule- and will not exceed 40 min. The other 2 classes you are in charge of your time- it all depends on how long it takes you to reach the goal! However I call it the dirty thirty because I want you to push. Don't be afraid to get a little sweaty- and learn to love 30!I will have to know by tomorrow if you plan on joining, and pymt will need to be paid separate from training! Will let you all know by text by mon eve if there is not enough people! WAHOOOO- start thinking about making your goals in 30, of 30, and for 30!*****I started training my daughter Hannah 3 weeks ago. She came to me and said she wanted to lose some weight and she wanted some help! Why, I had no idea it was going to be this fun! lol! When she says "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME" with a roll of her eyes.. it takes me back to that spirited little girl who has now grown into a spirited little lady! I am very proud of her and her commitment! So far she has not missed a session yet! I had her on the punching bag this week~~~ here is her pics s her pic
